Entry requirements
The following degrees from SDU or other Danish universities are pre-approved for admission:
- Economics and Business Administration
- Economics
- Environment and Resource Management (formerly Environmental Planning)
- Market and Management Anthropology
- Mathematics-Economics
- Sociology and Cultural Analysis (conditional on completion of a 5 ECTS course in Microeconomics before study start)
- European Studies (conditional on completion of a 5 ECTS course in Microeconomics before study start)
Specific academic requirements for other degrees
All applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 10 ECTS in quantitative subjects relevant to environmental and resource management. Acceptable areas include:
- Microeconomics
- Statistics
- Mathematics
- Macroeconomics
- Econometrics
- Environmental Modeling
- Quantitative Methods in the Social or Natural Sciences
The 10 ECTS may be accumulated across several modules (e.g., 5 ECTS in Statistics and 5 ECTS in Microeconomics). Courses may be part of larger modules or interdisciplinary programs. The Admissions Committee has the authority to determine whether the requirement is fulfilled based on the academic content and level of the applicant’s coursework.
Notification of change in entry requirements from study start September 2026
In addition to the above-mentioned ECTS requirements, the following will be added to the list:
- 5 ECTS within Theory of Science and Scientific Methodology and Methods - the requirement can be replaced by a bachelor’s thesis (10 ECTS) if your degree is from a university. A thesis is defined as an independent scientific work written at the end of the study program.
English language requirements
The programme is taught in English. Therefore, you are required to submit proof of your proficiency in English unless your Bachelor's gives you a legal claim for admission. See the English language requirements.
Statement of academic interest
If there are more qualified applicants than there are places, applicants without a legal claim are selected on the basis of a statement of academic interest. In preparing the statement of academic interest you should address the following questions:
- How is your previous educational experience relevant to this particular programme? Include and relate to the course description of this programme
- What qualifications and experiences do you have with respect to quantitative reasoning and methods, and how have these qualifications and experiences influenced your choice of programme?
Supplementing your degree
It is possible to supplement your Bachelor’s degree with the following courses (a maximum total of 10 ECTS) to meet the admission requirements:
- 5 ECTS in Statistics
- 5 ECTS in Microeconomics
Any supplementary courses must be completed before study start.
As a Bachelor student 麻豆社区, you can apply for permission to follow up to 30 ECTS Master-level courses even though you have yet to complete your Bachelor’s degree.
You can be granted permission if you have the necessary academic qualifications. The progression of your Bachelor’s programme is crucial to the outcome of your application.

Have you completed a Master’s programme?
If you’ve already obtained a Master’s degree, you can only be admitted to a new Master’s programme if there are vacant study places in the programme.

Have you completed another type of study programme?
As long as you do not hold a Master’s degree, you are free to apply for admission to a new programme.
