Who can apply?
Only students from partner universities can apply for clinical rotations through SDU’s exchange programme.
If you are nominated through the Nordplus Medicine network, you must follow the same procedure as regular exchange students and meet the same requirements.

Disciplines and structure
- Disciplines: Neurology, ENT, Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anaesthesiology
- Duration: 2 or 4 weeks per rotation
- Maximum length: 8–12 weeks in total, depending on availability
Assessment
All clinical rotations are assessed with a pass/fail portfolio based on 11 clinical learning objectives. You will be evaluated continuously during your stay.

Clinical rotations must be applied for as part of a regular exchange application to SDU.
In your application, please include your preferred clinical departments and desired dates.
Courses in Medicine
The BSc and MSc programmes in Medicine are taught entirely in Danish. SDU does not offer an international semester in Medicine.
However, Master’s students from Nordic countries – or students who meet SDU’s Danish language requirements – may apply for individual courses, provided they meet the academic prerequisites.
10th semester: Reproductive Health
The 10th semester focuses on Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Paediatrics.
It includes:
- Surgical placement (Gyn/Obs): 4 weeks – 8 ECTS
- Medical placement: 4 weeks – 8 ECTS
- Course: “Kvinde, mor og barn” – 14 ECT
