The Research and Implementation Unit PROgrez conducts research on physical activity, movement, self-management, and the lived experience among individuals with, or at risk of, chronic conditions. Furthermore, the unit maintains a distinct focus on data-driven implementation of evidence-based interventions into clinical practice.
Our research projects consistently prioritize user involvement and emphasize interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration, coupled with a rigorous process of intervention development and evaluation.
The research group comprises 40-45 individuals, including physiotherapists, nurses, medical doctors, public health specialists, occupational therapists, and midwives. This multi-professional composition ensures a multifaceted perspective on our research and often facilitates cross-collaboration within various projects, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
Currently, PROgrez’s research focus includes, among other areas:
- Physical activity in pregnant women with gestational diabetes
- Nature-based exercise for individuals with rheumatological conditions
- Digital solutions across chronic disease and multimorbidity
- Exercise therapy and care strategies for individuals with multimorbidity
- Assessment and treatment following visits to the Emergency Department (ED)
- Exercise intervention and the lived experience thereof for older adults with cognitive impairment and hip fracture, as well as for individuals at risk of falls
- Family-based interventions
- Strategies for initiating and maintaining physical activity after completion of hospital- and municipal-based rehabilitation programs
PROgrez is funded by successfully secured internal and external grants and a fixed allocation from the Region Zealand regional council.
