Do you want to discover Odense a little bit before the summer school starts?
What hidden gems are present in this fairytale town? And where are the cool wanna-be places?

We have organized a walking tour for new students, where the guides show their favorite parts of the city to you. A great way to get to know the city and meet other newly arrived summer school students! The tour begins in front of the train station, next to the three-headed statue where the tram stops.

Our volunteers will then guide you through the city center and introduce you to the fairytale city of Odense. The tour is free and conducted by non-professional guides who are eager to share their love for this city and their knowledge.

Enjoy and see the cool and interesting parts of Odense from a local perspective. Everyone is welcome to join, as long as you sign-up for it.
The tour ends at the Studenthouse (dan. Studenterhuset), where you can get a drink or a sandwich at student-friendly prices.

IMPORTANT: You need to make sure to sign-up for one of the two offered times prior to the event since we only have limited spots available. The sign-up is possible from Monday, 20 July 2026 at 10:00AM to Sunday, 02 August 2026 at 09:00AM.

Monday 3 August 2026, 08:00 - 10:00 (SDU Odense campus - Aksen)

The team of SDU Summer School 2026 would like to give you a warm welcome to SDU Odense campus! As of 08:00, you can do the necessary final registration steps in order to be set for using the campus. What does that entail? You arrive at the given venue, register yourself if you are a non-SDU student, receive your student card, mingle with fellow students, grab a snack, listen to the welcoming speech and take a group picture.

After that, you will be ready to start the academic part of the summer school Â鶹ÉçÇø Odense.

Tuesday 4 August 2026, 19:30 - 23:00 (SDU Campus Odense - Friday bar “”)

So many new potential friends are waiting to be discovered by you!
Join us at the speed-friending event to get to know lots of new people within just three minutes.

This will be the easiest way to make friends from all over the world – Danes included! The bar will serve beverages at student-friendly prices during the entire event.

Please note that since we have limited spots available at the venue, we can grant access to a maximum of 300 people. So better be on time.

Thursday 6 August 2026, 19:30 - 21:00 (Studenterhuset)

Who does not love to test their knowledge through a fun quiz?!

We thought that maybe you all would like some competition and put your know-how to the test on various topics. The topics will be announced a few days before the event, so no need to study beforehand. Just bring your vivid mind!

There will be cool prices for the winners - all SDU merchandise. A great way to remember your summer school!

Please note that since we have limited spots available at the venue, we can grant access to a maximum of 250 people. We will start at 19:30 sharp! So better be on time.

Sunday 9 August 2026, 09:30 - 15:30 (SDU Campus Odense - entry of )

Visit one of the most beautiful Danish landmarks: Egeskov castle and its gardens - winner of the European Garden Award 2012!

You get a chance to visit and enter one of the best preserved castles in Denmark. Here, you can also get lost in the garden maze, or explore one of the several botanical greens. Visit the vintage cars and motorcycles exhibitions or take a walk on suspended bridges. These are only a few of the activities you can enjoy!

You are welcome to bring your own lunch bag or visit the local café for beverages and food.

The ticket price is: 225 kr. per person

Admission to all exhibitions, park and the castle

Meeting point: Entry of the SDU Faculty of Engineering (the ‘cheese building’) at 09:30AM. The bus departs at 10AM sharp, and since we are in Denmark, you will not be arguing with bus drivers about time.

Join us for a “hyggelig” night of board games and summer school buddies!

Gather your friends and join us Â鶹ÉçÇø for a night of board games! There is gonna be loads of fun!

We will be meeting inside the main entry of the library and then go to play some board games. Feel free to also join later that night, in case you need a break from studying for exams or writing project papers.

Once you are done playing, remember to bring the board games back to the library.

Join us for a day at the modern international SDU campus in the beautiful city of Sønderborg, close to the German border.

Here you will be met by our international students, who will introduce you to our 7 different engineering master programs and show you the state-of-the-art facilities on campus.

They will give you a tour of campus, the city and take you to some of their favorite places in Sønderborg. We will end up with an outdoor informal dinner at the local dorm.

Bring your swimsuit, because Sønderborg has the most beautiful beach 😊
