PhD title: A methodological framework for applying technical industrial skills in Danish and German Schools - Bridging education with technology and engineering skills in tech industries

The project investigates how schools in Denmark and Germany can better equip students with the technology and engineering skills that modern industry needs. At its core, the research aims to develop a practical methodological framework that schools can use to continuously update and improve how technology is taught - drawing directly on partnerships with companies to ensure the content stays relevant to the real job market.
The work is part of the EU Interreg STEPS programme and spans three years of data collection, case studies, and classroom testing. It includes a dedicated review of how AI tools are being used in children's learning environments, as well as cross-border comparisons between Danish and German schools and educators. The ultimate goal is to help close Denmark's projected gap of 20,000 STEM-educated workers by 2040 - by sparking interest in STEM careers earlier and giving students a more meaningful, industry-connected education from the start.
