Mira C. Skadegård

Associate Professor

Mira C. Skadegård is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, Denmark, and holds a PhD focused on structural discrimination. Her work centers on non-discrimination, equality, diversity, gender, sexuality, racialization, and human rights. In addition to her academic work, she is a senior consultant specializing in social sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Her research explores structural and systemic forms of oppression and discrimination in everyday life, organizational cultures, and institutional settings. She also works extensively with topics related to social sustainability and the practical implementation of DEI principles across various sectors.

Her research and consulting is grounded in human rights and aligned with international sustainability initiatives such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

Beyond her research and consulting work, Mira is an active public speaker, commentator, and board member in several organizations and NGOs. She is widely published in both academic and non-academic platforms and presents fluently in both Danish and English.
