Nathaniel Mayengo
Dr. Nathaniel Mayengo is an educational psychologist at the University of Kyambogo with over 20 years of university teaching, graduate supervision, curriculum development as well as coordinator of internship and school practice. Additionally, he is skilled in teacher education reforms, inclusive school development, and psychosocial support for children and youth in Uganda. He is also the founder of Sir Nimrod Junior School and Co-Director of KUC Mental Health Uganda. In December 2025 he and his colleague, Jane Namusoke, will visit the Danish Center of Psychotraumatology to collaborate with Professor Ask Elklit on a project relating to their field of research. The project are currently being conceptualized, and updates on their project will be posted under Publications on the website. |
Jane Namusoke
Guest researcher from 30/11 - 14/12, 2025 Jane Namusoke is an Ugandan counselling psychologist and lecturer with over 20 years of experience in mental health education, clinical supervision, and trauma-informed practice. She focuses on strengthening mental health systems in low-resource and post-conflict settings. She has co-authored studies on mental health and has supported organizations such as UNESCO through training material development and psychosocial support manuals. She is also experienced in multi-stakeholder collaboration and community engagement. In December 2025 she and her colleague, Nathan Mayengo, will visit the Danish Center of Psychotraumatology to collaborate with Professor Ask Elklit on a project relating to their field of research. Guest researcher from 19th-23rd of february, 2024 AgnietÄ— is a PhD student at the Center for Psychotraumatology, Vilnius University. She mainly works on child, adolescent and youth trauma and stress studies in Lithuania. Her PhD research topic covers the longitudinal perspective of posttraumatic and complex posttraumatic stress risk and resilience factors. AgnietÄ— visited the Danish Center of Psychotraumatology on February 19-23, 2024. |

Guest researcher from 27 Februar - 3 marts 2023 From: Portugal Francisco, Joana and Júlia were guests at the Danish Center for Psychotraumatology in connection with their PhD projects. The PhDs focus on the association between adverse childhood experiences and PTSD in different populations, including India, Kenya and the Faroe Islands. The Danish Center of Psychotraumatology collected the data together with Professor Paulo Ferrajão from the European University of Lisbon, who is the supervisor of Francisco, Joana and Júlia. |
