Collaboration

Collaboration at the department of Muscle Physiology and Biomechanics

We collaborate with colleagues from other national and international universities, as well as partners from the private industry, non-governmental organizations, governmental institutions, and the municipality. This collaboration enables us to conduct multi-disciplinary research at the highest international level and apply our findings to real-life scenarios, ultimately transforming new knowledge into solutions and decisions that benefit humanity.

 

Current key collaborators:

 

Current collaborative projects: Effects of ergogenic collagen supplementation on exercise-induced improvements in muscle morphology and mechanical muscle function in older men.

Project: Applying robot assisted training for rehabilitation of stroke patients.
Project: Basic function of the muscle tendon unit, adaptation to training and influence of muscle architecture/tendon mechanics on function and performance.
Current collaborative projects: Feasibility and rehabilitative effects of blood-flow restricted exercise (BFRE) in selected patient groups (tendinopathy, osteoarthritis).

Current collaborative projects: Effects of ergogenic collagen supplementation on exercise induced gains in muscle morphology and mechanical muscle function in elderly males.

Ulster University l York Street l Belfast. Collaboration in previous and ongoing projects including the Horizon 2020 SILTLESS. 

Collaboration in numerous previous and ongoing projects. Elsa is an external consultant for a couple of Danish projects (e.g. HANC).
Collaboration in previous large-scale projects including the Horizon 2020 SILTLESS.
Ongoing collaboration in the Join4Joy European funded project.
Maria sits in the expert group for the ENGAGE study.
Current collaboration: Several projects investigating the effects of training and acute exercise on muscle function.

Current collaboration: Glycogen and fat metabolism during exercise. 

Current collaboration: Effects of training and acute exercise on fat metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes.
