Cultural Diplomacy and Street Fighting: A conversation about the culture of fascism in the interwar period

Nordic Humanities Center in collaboration with the Radicality Cluster at the Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen.

In this conversation, historians Charlie Krautwald and Frederik Forrai 脴rskov discuss the content of their new books, which both revolve around the culture of fascism in the period between the two world wars.

Frederik Forrai 脴rskov has written the book National Socialist Cultural Diplomacy  (Routledge, 2025) and Charlie Krautwald is the author of the book Kampen om gaderne (Gyldendal, 2025).

During the conversation, the two historians will focus on aspects that defined interwar fascism and are relevant in our increasingly polarised times.

This includes the radicalization of culture and political expression in the 1930s as well as the trans- and international aspects of the radical right, as they materialized in the era鈥檚 struggles for the street and the public opinion in a Danish and Nordic context

The event takes place at the University of Copenhagen, South Campus - room 12.3.07.
The event is open to all.
