Intersectoral Action for Health

Gain insight into how collaboration across sectors can promote population health and health equity. The course develops your understanding of intersectoral action and strengthens your ability to work critically and reflectively with collaboration in public health practice.

Understand collaboration across sectors

You will develop an in-depth understanding of intersectoral action for health and the dynamics involved when different sectors work together to improve public health outcomes.

The course focuses on how collaboration can support health promotion and health equity across organisational and professional boundaries.

Analyse partnerships and collaborative processes

You will learn to analyse and critically reflect on how intersectoral partnerships are initiated, organised and carried out in practice. The course gives insight into the opportunities and challenges that arise when multiple actors collaborate around public health interventions.

Work with public health in interdisciplinary environments

The course develops competencies that prepare you to contribute to the planning and implementation of intersectoral collaboration in interdisciplinary and intersectoral settings.

You will work with perspectives relevant to collaboration at local, national and international levels in connection with public health initiatives.

Overall purpose and content of the course

The course provides knowledge about intersectoral action for health and the processes involved in collaboration across sectors. You will strengthen your analytical and reflective competencies and learn to contribute to intersectoral public health interventions in complex organisational contexts.
