Research interest:
I conduct participatory action research with a focus on compassion in healthcare and health research. My work is primarily grounded in qualitative methods such as (auto)ethnography, user-driven workshops, interviews, field observations, diaries, and poetry. I explore compassion as a phenomenon, as a way of being in the world, and as an evidence-based mental training practice among healthcare professionals, patients, and relatives.
My research is sensuously grounded and investigates how a compassion-oriented approach can strengthen the researcher's presence, engagement, and ability to navigate own and the users' vulnerability in the field. I am both process- and outcome-oriented, integrating diverse methods (including quantitative ones) and involving relevant users to enhance the impact and implementation of solutions in the healthcare system.
