Peter R. Jakobsgaard

Former Research Assistant
Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Email: pete@sdu.dk

Peter has been a member of the research group of Kim Ravnskjaer since 2018, where he has been involved with work on transcriptional regulation in hepatic stellate cells and mononuclear phagocytes during NASH- and fibrosis development in the liver.

Peter was employed as a PhD fellow in ATLAS in September 2021 and is working on projects related to hepatic tissue plasticity in response to diet-induced obesity and regression with a focus on NASH- and liver fibrosis development. His main research focus was the application and computational analysis of advanced genomics e.g., single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics to study hepatic tissue plasticity and disease-driving cellular interactions.

Until recently he worked as a Research Assistant in the Ravnskjaer group, but from 2025 he took up a position as Computational Staff Scientist in ADIPOSIGN - Center for Adipocyte Signaling. His ties to ATLAS are still strong.
